# Change your contract: displays, package, add-ons

After this page, you have changed displays, package, video wall, app, or billing period with an order, and you know what is due today and what comes regularly afterwards.

> **Type:** guide
> **For:** Owners who change the scope of their contract.
> **Prerequisite:** **Owner** role. An increase requires a payment method on file and a complete invoice profile. Reductions work without a payment way.
> **Where in the portal:** **Billing** › **Change contract**

On the left are four sections, and on the right is the breakdown **Your order**. Exactly one section is open, and completed ones collapse into one line with **Change**. On the phone, they stack, and **Open the breakdown** shows the totals.

## Steps

### Section 1: **Scope**

1. Under **Package**, choose between **Starter**, **Pro**, and **Premium**. Szenera arranges **Enterprise** with you personally.
2. Under **Number of displays**, set the quantity with **One more display** and **One less display**. Next to it is the current count, such as “3 paired · 2 free”.
3. Check the **Volume tiers**: **Your tier** is highlighted, and the note names the next one. Each tier applies to the whole fleet.
4. Choose the **Billing period**: **monthly** or **yearly**. With yearly payment, the discount in percent is shown next to the selection.
5. If needed, add a **Video wall** and **Apps**: one video wall per surface, one monthly price per app.
6. Click **Continue to the invoice profile**.

If you come from a pairing, an app, or a video wall, the context note names what is already set: “We have set your quantity to 4.”

### Section 2: **Invoice profile**

Add **Company**, **Street and number**, **Postal code**, **City**, **Country**, **Invoice email**, **VAT ID**, and the **Document language**, then **Save invoice profile**. What the fields do is explained in [Invoice profile, VAT ID, and tax](/docs/billing/invoice-profile).

### Section 3: **Payment**

Choose your payment method or create one via **New payment method**. Without an increase, it says “No payment is needed for this change.” **Request purchase on account** takes you to the request as long as this option is not enabled.

### Section 4: **Review**

1. Read the preview under **This is how your invoice will look**: **Invoice recipient**, **Service period**, items with **Quantity**, **Unit price net**, and **Tax**, and below them **Net**, **VAT**, **Gross**.
2. Compare **Due today** with the amount **After that**. For a reduction, nothing is due today, and **After that** names the new amount from the end of the current period.
3. Check the box: concluding the contract as a business under § 14 German Civil Code, consent to the Terms and Conditions and to the Data Processing Agreement, acknowledgment of the Privacy Policy.
4. Click **Place binding order**. The button shows the amount. For a pure contract change, it is labeled **Order this change bindingly**.

If you move up one tier in the **Volume tiers**, a minus line appears between the items: “Volume tier — credit for 3 displays already billed”. The cheaper unit price applies to the whole fleet. This line deducts what was overcharged for your existing displays in the current period from the amount due today, on the same document as the increase.

A reduction and the cancellation of the entire contract do not take effect immediately. Both take effect at the end of the paid period. The cancellation is on the **Contract** tab under **Cancel contract**.

## Options

### Increase, reduction, and the change of the billing period

An **increase** can be used immediately: one more display, a larger package, a **video wall**, a booked app, or the switch to **yearly**. With it, a new period starts today. What is due today is the price of the new period, minus the part of the previous period that is not yet used up. A **reduction** is scheduled for the end of the current period: fewer displays, a smaller package, a canceled app, or back to **monthly**. Until then everything runs unchanged, and no money moves today. A credit is never paid out and instead reduces the next invoice ([What do you pay for](/docs/billing/about-packages-and-seats)).

The **billing period** is therefore not a mere setting. The switch to **yearly** counts as an increase: The annual period begins on the day of the switch, and the unused rest of the month is offset. Back to **monthly** counts as a reduction: The change is scheduled for the end of the paid year.

Which document results from this and when it is in the portal depends on your payment way: [The document for a contract change](/docs/billing/invoices#the-document-for-a-contract-change).

## Check the result

- The confirmation reports “Order accepted.” with order number and date.
- Under **What applies now** are package, **Displays**, **Billing period**, and **Next invoice**. **Next step** takes you to **Pair a display**, **Create video wall**, or **Go to your apps**.
- Under **Your document** is the PDF. With a reduction, **Due today** was €0.00.
- **Your consent** records time, person, and versions. The confirmation goes to your invoice email.

## If something goes wrong

| Symptom | Meaning | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| “Please complete your invoice profile first.” | Required details are missing. | **Complete invoice profile** opens section 2, **Invoice profile**. |
| “Please add a payment method first.” | Szenera delivers against payment in advance. | **Open payment** takes you to section 3, **Payment**: [Add a payment method](/docs/billing/add-payment-method). |
| “The amount has changed” or “This order is more than seven days old.” | The draft was recalculated. | Check the breakdown, then order again. |
| “You have 4 displays paired — the reduction takes effect at the end of the period.” | You book fewer displays than are paired. | Until the end of the period, [remove the surplus displays](/docs/displays/remove-display). |
| “Your package carries at most 5 displays.” | You have reached the limit of your package. | Choose a larger package. |
| “Your contract ends on …. Withdraw the cancellation to expand.” | A cancellation is scheduled. | Click **Withdraw cancellation** on the **Contract** tab. |
