# Displays

Pair, name, assign, monitor, and maintain displays remotely — from the first pairing through status and commands to the video wall and removal.

> **Type:** area
> **For:** anyone who manages their organization’s displays in the portal (Manager or Owner role). Members can view the fleet.
> **Where in the portal:** **Displays** and **Video walls**

## Understand

Two pages worth reading before the first pairing: the words and the status indicators.

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [What is a display, a device, and a panel?](/docs/displays/about-displays-and-devices) | You trip over the three words and want to know what you create, what you pay for, and what hangs on the wall. |
| [Read status, visibility, and incidents](/docs/displays/read-status) | The fleet shows a status word or the record shows a warning band, and you want to know what it means. |

## Set up

From the pairing code to the adjusted panel — the order in which a new display takes shape.

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [Pair a display](/docs/displays/pair-display) | A panel shows a six-character code and needs to be added to the portal. |
| [Connect many displays at once](/docs/displays/connect-many-displays) | Twenty branches in one go: create all displays at once and download a file that the device reads itself — instead of typing a code twenty times. |
| [Create a web display in the browser](/docs/displays/create-web-display) | An existing computer, tablet, or smart TV should become a display without a machine of its own. |
| [Add a second display to the same device](/docs/displays/add-second-display) | A second panel is connected to the player, and it shows no code. |
| [Name displays, add tags, and correct the map position](/docs/displays/name-and-tag-displays) | Your list is filling up, and you can no longer find a particular display at a glance. |
| [Create locations and assign displays to them](/docs/displays/create-locations) | Your displays are at several addresses, and you want to organize the fleet by place instead of searching by name. |
| [Adjust a display’s picture and power](/docs/displays/adjust-picture) | The picture is sideways, glares in the evening, or the panel should be off at night. |

## Operate

Day-to-day work: survey many displays, check individual ones, assign content, step in remotely.

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [The fleet: views, filters, and bulk actions](/docs/displays/fleet) | You want to survey many displays at once, filter them, or change several at the same time. |
| [The display record: six tabs at a glance](/docs/displays/display-record) | You are looking for a particular card or detail and want to know which tab it is on. |
| [Check what a display is showing now and will show today](/docs/displays/check-now-playing) | You want to know what a display is showing at this moment and what is planned for the rest of the day. |
| [Assign a program to a display](/docs/displays/assign-program) | A new display shows the placeholder, or a display should show something different from now on. |
| [Remote maintenance: send commands to a display](/docs/displays/remote-maintenance) | A display is far away, and you want to refresh it, look at it, or find it again in the room. |

## Video walls

Several displays, one picture: first the principle, then the setup.

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [How does a video wall show one picture across displays?](/docs/displays/about-video-walls) | You are planning a wall of several displays and want to know beforehand how the picture is spread across them. |
| [Create a video wall, assign content, and dissolve it](/docs/displays/create-video-wall) | Several displays are mounted side by side and should show a single surface together. |

## Remove and troubleshoot

When a display goes away — or does not show what it should.

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [Remove a display](/docs/displays/remove-display) | A panel is replaced or taken down, and the booked seat should become free again. |
| [When a display does not show what it should](/docs/displays/troubleshooting) | A display stays black, shows the placeholder or an old version, and you are looking for the cause. |
