What is Szenera, and what do you need for it?

Before you start
- For
- everyone who opens the portal for the first time or wants to create an organization
- Prerequisite
- none. You do not need an account yet for this page.

Szenera puts content on displays: in a pharmacy’s shop window, in a medical practice’s waiting room, above a restaurant counter, or in a clubhouse. Three parties share the work: you in the browser, the platform in the background, and the display on site. It does not take much equipment.
Three parties, one cycle
The portal is the web interface for your own displays: media, scenes, playlists, programs, displays, apps, team, billing, and settings. It holds no data of its own. It talks to the platform, the central instance that stores and distributes everything, and shows the results.
The third party is the display on site: a panel with a player behind it, or a browser that runs the display software. What you maintain in the portal, the platform distributes to the displays. The displays report their status back, and the portal shows it to you. Portal and devices share a persistent connection: What you publish appears on the display seconds later.
You decide, the platform distributes, the display reports back.
The portal shows only the data of your own organization, meaning all your locations, devices, and staff. An account can belong to several organizations. At sign-in, the portal then asks Where would you like to work? Two groups do not work in the portal. The staff who run the platform have a strictly separate interface. They are the ones meant when this documentation says “contact the operator.” And whoever sets up devices works on the device itself: power supply, cable, network. The only part of that you see in the portal is the pairing code on the display.

What you bring
| What | What is enough |
|---|---|
| An account | A business email address, nothing more: no organization code, no invitation, no payment details. |
| A role | Usually Owner or a role with editing permissions. If a permission is missing, the button is grayed out. A tooltip gives the reason. |
| A browser | The portal runs in the browser, on a computer as well as on a phone. |
| A panel | Any panel with a free HDMI input, in landscape or portrait: an off-the-shelf TV works as well as a panel built for continuous operation. |
| A playback device | Player Lite (one display, available) or Player Pro (two displays, announced) via HDMI. Or a computer, tablet, or smart TV with a current browser as a Web display. |
| Network | A network cable or Wi-Fi. The player never needs a keyboard or mouse. |
| Time | About 15 minutes for the first display. Most of the time, you are waiting for the device. |
Every package includes offline playback and displays in the browser. Billing is per display, not per device. Your billing page tells you how many your contract covers and whether web displays are enabled for it.
What follows
- You work in one place, the portal. Nothing is operated on the device itself.
- You see only your organization. What you are missing is not missing from the platform, but from your role or your package.
- A panel without a player is no obstacle: A browser is enough as a web display.
- If the network goes down, the display keeps playing: The content is stored on the device. As soon as the connection is back, the player catches up with the current state.
