After this guide, an app holds the data it needs to display content: locations and duty rosters for Pharmacies on duty. Only then does its widget show something on the display other than an empty area.

Some apps manage data of their own for your organization. For each Data area, they keep a tab of its own on their page, and the Overview tab links to them under Data areas of this app. Today three apps bring data areas: Pharmacies on duty its Locations and Duty rosters, the Menu board its Cards, and the Calendar its Calendars. The Opening hours app keeps no data of its own. Its times are set at the location (see Locations).

Steps

Configure the pharmacy duty of a location

Every location of your organization with an address in Germany is automatically a pharmacy-duty location. You do not have to create it in the app: you maintain the address and position once at the location (see Locations), and the app then shows it in the Locations tab.

  1. Open the Pharmacies on duty app and, in it, the Locations tab. If it says No location with an address yet, Go to locations leads to the page where you add the address.
  2. Select a location on the left.
  3. Set the Radius (km), 1 to 50, and click Save changes.
Field Meaning
Load pharmacies on duty Switches fetching for this location on or off immediately.
Radius (km) We search for pharmacies on duty this far around the location.
Source Automatic: the pharmacy chamber of the federal state wherever we can fetch from it, otherwise aponet.de.

Fetch now fetches immediately, and under Current pharmacies on duty the pharmacies on duty are listed with Distance, Pharmacy, Address, Phone, and Duty time. If the location has no coordinates, it says No position at the location there: the nationwide source then searches the radius.

Caution: A location with Load pharmacies on duty switched off is no longer fetched, and what it shows goes out of date. Switch it off only if no pharmacy duty should be shown there.

What a Duty window is and what the display shows from it is described in Pharmacies on duty.

Override a single day in the duty roster

  1. Open the Duty rosters tab and, at the top, choose Location, From, and To. Refresh reloads the list.
  2. Click Create override or, in a row, Edit. Set pharmacy duty for one day opens.
  3. Enter Pharmacy, Address, Phone (optional), Distance in km (optional), and an Internal note (optional).
  4. Click Save override.

The Duty roster table then shows the columns Duty window, Pharmacy, Address, Phone, and Source. The source says where an entry comes from: Fetch, Demo stub, Override, or CSV import.

Caution: An override replaces the whole day. The other pharmacies of that day disappear from the display, and the display shows only the one you entered. The automatic fetch no longer replaces a day set this way afterward.

Import several days from a CSV file

  1. In the Duty rosters tab, click Import CSV. The dialog Import duty roster as CSV explains: “The rows of the file are assigned to the selected location and replace existing days.”
  2. Choose your file through Choose CSV file. Expected columns: scheduleDate, pharmacyName, pharmacyAddr, pharmacyPhone, distanceKm.
  3. Check the Preview with the columns Date, Pharmacy, and Address. Below it is the summary, for example “2 valid rows, 1 error.” These rows are skipped lists faulty rows row by row.
  4. Click Confirm import.

Options

Apps without a data area of their own

Not every app keeps data of its own on its page. You maintain the Notice board, for example, on its widget in the scene editor. If an app keeps a data area without a maintenance page of its own, it says “This app provides no interface for this data area.”

Who may maintain which data area

An app’s permissions are added to your organization’s permission catalog with its installation. They appear on the app’s page in the Settings tab under Roles & permissions.

App permission Default for
View locations, View duty rosters Owner, Manager, Member
Set up pharmacy duty, Edit locations, Remove pharmacy duty Owner, Manager
Correct duty rosters Owner, Manager
Import duty rosters Owner

If you lack a permission, the corresponding form does not appear at all.

The data survives an uninstall

What you maintain in a data area is kept when you uninstall and is available again after a new installation. If you no longer need the data, have it deleted after uninstalling, see Uninstall an app. What applies to an app is stated before installation under Data & access in the When you uninstall block.

Caution: The Pharmacies on duty app carries a legal notice that you agree to at installation: “The duty information comes from pharmacy chambers and nationwide from aponet.de. It is fetched for the locations of your organization, and only address and radius are transmitted. We show it without guarantee. The binding source is the pharmacy emergency hotline (0800 00 22 833), not the display, and the display does not replace your legally required notice. You show the data only on your own premises, do not pass it on and leave the source attribution in place.”

Check the result

  • The app’s Overview tab reports Setup complete instead of counting further steps to the display.
  • For Pharmacies on duty, Current pharmacies on duty in the location’s detail view lists the pharmacies on duty. If the note Sample data appears above it, the entries come from the app’s sample data and not from a real fetch.
  • In the scene preview, the app’s widget shows real content instead of the notice that no data is available yet.

If something goes wrong

Symptom Meaning Solution
Pharmacies on duty shows nothing There is no active location. Only active locations are fetched. Create a location and leave it Active.
Pharmacies on duty shows no upcoming days Not an error: the source only answers who is on duty now. Nothing to do. There is no preview of the coming days, by the nature of the data.
A pharmacy has disappeared from the list It was no longer reported as on duty at the last fetch. Nothing to do. If the source reports it again, it appears at the next fetch.
The note Sample data stays permanently The entries come from the app’s sample data. Contact us.
No location yet in the Duty rosters tab Fetches, imports, and entries of your own need a location. Create a location first.
“The interface of this app could not be loaded.” The data area could not be opened. Reload the page. If it persists, see When an app does not run.
A form is missing entirely You lack the permission for this data area. Ask an owner to adjust the role.
